Pumping Station De-Commissioning
- Project: Pumping Station De-Commissioning
- Client: Daewoo/Ashghal
- Location: E-Ring Road
Equipment/Machines used:
Trucks, lifting gears, mobile cranes, scaffolding, excavators, Telehandler, and forklifts.
Scope of work:
This project involved decommissioning, dismantling, lifting, transportation, labelling and handover of all equipment for re-use to Ashghal. The facility consisted of a pump control room, backup generators, fuel tanks, water tanks, pumps, control panels, underground services all of which had to be handed over to the client in full working order.
How the work was executed:
JMCI lifted off the cover slab of the chamber by providing chemically anchored lifting points and used a mobile crane to lift it. The ducts, pipes, elbows and pumps were discounted and removed one by one, carefully packaged, and temporarily stored for transportation.
The underground services were all manually excavated around to prevent any damage from taking place, disconnected and rolled up.
Once all the cables and pipes were disconnected from the various panels etc. The panels, control room, generators and tanks were rigged, lifted, and loaded onto trucks. All the items were then transported, off loaded, and handed over at Ashghal yard as required.
